Summer of 2007

The summer of 2007 seemed very hectic to us. Nancy and I were gone on several trips while both Menchu and Nancy celebrated birthdays. We decided to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of our company with a luncheon cruise for the staff. In addition, we tried to spend some time with the kids. Here are a few photos taken of activities over the summer months.

Larry

Tricia, Panjee, Nancy and Larry pose in front of our house. Obvious in this photo are Nancy's giant sunflowers. Nancy has always liked sunflowers. This spring she found some seeds on the Internet for giant sunflowers so I got them for her. They did turn out to be giant plants with some of the larger ones trying to stretch up to the roof. Nancy also had a vegetable garden in the back yard that produced some very nice tomatoes, onions and other plants. 01.jpg
Mid-June marked the birthday of Menchu. She graciously invited everyone to join her on a luncheon cruise to celebrate her special day. Once again she decided to ride on the Mystic Blue, a very nice ship that operated from Navy Pier in Chicago. Here, everyone lined up on the Navy Pier boardwalk for a photo. From left to right: Marco, Buddy, Malu, Tricia and Nancy, Panjee, Menchu's friend Dinah, Diane with Iya in the stroller, Eski, Menchu, Cookie and her friend Lenard. 02.jpg
Nancy's birthday came in July. She decided to celebrate by treating all of her friends to a show at Medieval Times in a suburb of Chicago. Here, the group lines up before going inside. From left to right: Diane, Eski and little Iya, Panjee's friend Megan, Panjee, and Panjee's friend Eleanor. Then birthday girl Nancy, Cookie, Tricia and Menchu. And Buddy, Marco, Malu, and Philip. 03.jpg
We surprised Nancy by arranging for two birthday cakes and also arranging for her to be knighted in honor of her birthday. Here, the king of the castle knights Nancy for her birthday. As you can see by her smile, Nancy seems to enjoy it. 04.jpg
Nancy asked for this photo. It shows all four of the Pascua sisters, complete with their Medieval Times crowns, posing in front of the king's throne in the lobby area. Left to right: Diane, Nancy, Cookie and Menchu. 05.jpg
Since National Bus Trader, Inc., our corporation, celebrates its 30th Anniversary in 2007, Nancy arranged for a luncheon cruise on the Mystic Blue from Navy Pier on August 1. Several of our staff members brought spouses, children or friends with them to celebrate. During the cruise, Tricia was invited to step into the wheel house and see how the cruise ship is run. Here, she poses with some of the staff who were in the wheel house and running the boat. 06.jpg
What with staff, friends and children, our group required three large tables on the Corporate 30th Anniversary cruise. One of the highlights was the DJ and dancing following the very nice lunch. In the foreground is Megan (in front of Panjee) and Panjee dancing the Cha-Cha Slide. Most of the other girls are children of staff members. 07.jpg
More dancing on the Mystic Blue during the Corporate 30th Anniversary Luncheon Cruise. If you look in the center you will see Tricia dancing to the tune of Macarena with Menchu behind her. On the right with the big glasses is Panjee's friend Eleanor.

On the first weekend of August, we decided to get away for a few days and spend a long weekend at the Grand Bear resort at Utica, Illinois near Starved Rock State Park. Since we were able to get a large cabin with three bedrooms, four bathrooms and a kitchen, we invited our extended family along.  09.jpg
The Grand Bear Resort has several special features including a large indoor water park, an indoor amusement park, and a really nice miniature golf course. On one night they scheduled Karaoke at Enchanted Forest, the indoor amusement park. Here, Panjee takes the microphone to join in the fun. 10.jpg
