More Photos of
Menchu, Cookie and Richard
at Larry and Nancy's House

With the arrival of Menchu, Cookie and Richard, our house has become more active and more noisy. Just like when Nancy arrived, our neighbors and friends in Polo and nearby have been very nice to them. This is one of the advantages of living in a small town. Here are a few more photos taken in February.

Please feel free to send e-mail to the girls. Both Menchu and Cookie still have their old e-mail addresses. You can also send e-mail to Nancy at the address shown at the bottom of this page. She loves to get e-mail. Please send her a note and tell her you saw these photos.

It was Monday morning, February 18 and Menchu, Richard and Cookie are leaving our house to drive to Shannon for their first day of work in the United States. Menchu and Cookie got their visas through the Villas of Shannon nursing home in Shannon, Illinois. After they arrived, Richard was asked to work there too.

They are allowed to drive on their Philippine driver's licenses for 90 days but must then get an Illinois driver's license. They are using our Ford Aspire which is our spare car.

Here, Menchu, Richard and Cookie pose in front of the Villas of Shannon Nursing Home in Shannon, Illinois where they will be working. Richard also agreed to work here after he arrived.

Menchu, Richard and Cookie do not seem to mind the cold as much as Nancy did.

This photo was taken on Saturday morning, February 22. Cookie and Richard pose with their newly purchased 1998 Chevy Lumina. Because of different shifts, they needed another car. Menchu could drive the little Ford Aspire and Cookie and Richard decided to buy this car from my son, Christopher, who was going to buy another car. Christopher helped Cookie and Richard find insurance and I helped them get financing from a nearby bank . . . even though they do not yet have their first paycheck. You can do that in America. 03.jpg
Panjee, little Tricia and Menchu pose in our kitchen in front of the new Happy Easter decoration that Nancy recently purchased. Panjee is happy to have her two Titas and her Tito with her. Tricia is delighted with the extra attention provided by three "yayas." And Nancy is thankful for the extra help with the baby, with cooking and with cleaning.  04.jpg
It actually had nothing to do with the arrival of Menchu, Cookie and Richard, but we ended up cleaning up our office next door to make room for storing more of the books we publish. As a result, I moved furniture from the office and my spare computer and computer repair center from a corner of the living room to what used to be David's model train room downstairs. This is where I bring computers now to work on them. 05.jpg
Who do you think puts these pages together? People ask me why all of my kids are computer literate. It is because I always encouraged them to learn about computers. However, little Tricia seems to be very interested in computers. When I put her on my lap, she tries to reach over to type on the keyboard and help me put these Web pages together. At least she seems intent on her work. 06.jpg
