Christmas, 2001
At the Plachno House in Polo

Christmas was a delightful time for us this year. All six of my kids were around . . . David came home from the Air Force and Sarah came home from Florida. Little Patricia Marie was four months old on Christmas Day. And, both Nancy and Panjee celebrated their second Christmas in the United States.

We are also excited because two of Nancy's sisters in the Philippines will soon be joining us. Menchu already has her visa and should arrive soon. Cookie, who will be bringing her husband Richard, is awaiting the arrival of her test scores so she can pick up her visa. Both Nancy and Panjee are excited about their forthcoming arrival

The following photos were taken at the end of December. Don't forget that Nancy now has another e-mail address. You can now send e-mail to her new address which is shown at the bottom of this page.

Please send her a note and tell her you saw these photos.

We are very proud of Panjee. Shortly after school started in September, Panjee began taking piano lessons. By the time that Christmas came, she was already playing Christmas songs and doing well.

This photo shows Panjee at her first piano recital. The event was a Christmas party for her and her fellow piano students.

Both Nancy and I like this photo. Panjee is in her Christmas dress while Tricia is in her Santa Claus outfit.

The photo was taken in our family room. Behind Panjee and Tricia is our Christmas train, a big pile of Christmas presents, and the top of our Christmas tree is sticking out over the presents.

There were a lot of presents this year because the kids also brought their presents to exchange on Christmas morning.

Nancy put in a lot of work to make our Christmas tree look nice. Those colorful bows were her idea.

This is Christmas morning in our family room with everyone exchanging presents. David brought his friend Lara while Sarah brought her friend Tim. We take turns unwrapping one present at a time and it took more than two hours. My grandson Devon had the most presents but Panjee came next. 03.jpg
Taken on Christmas morning, these shows our Plachno ladies on the couch in our family room. That's Panjee wearing the Santa hat. In the middle is Brooke (Mrs. Christopher Plachno) holding little Tricia Plachno. On the right is my daughter, Sarah Plachno. The only Plachno girl missing is Nancy. 04.jpg
This is Panjee showing off her "new" computer. With all of the computer improvements in my office, we found that we had an older Macintosh Quadra left over. So I brought it to the house and hooked up a monitor and keyboard to make a computer for Panjee. I then bought and put together this computer desk for Panjee's bedroom. She is now learning more and more about computers. 05.jpg
Panjee is shown in our bedroom with her Christmas presents. That porcelain doll above her head came from her lolo and lola (Daddy Ed and Mama Jean) in the Philippines.

After Christmas, we had to move some of Panjee's toys to another bedroom down the hallway because her own room was getting too crowded with so many toys.
