Baptism of Patricia Marie Plachno
Sunday, November 11, 2001

On Sunday, November 11, 2001, Patricia Marie was baptized at St. Mary's church in Polo following our regular 9:30 a.m. Mass. Although we did not realize it when we originally set the date, November 11 was also Veterans Day in the United States. For football fans in the Midwest, it marked the very important contest between the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears. It was also the Sunday for Panjee's religious education class at St. Mary's.

Patricia wore a special white dress which really looked nice on her. In the Philippines they often have several sponsors at a Baptism. Here in the United States we normally have only two sponsors at a baptism . . . a Godmother and a Godfather. Our pastor, Father John Hanrahan, allowed us a compromise and we had four sponsors.

We hope that you enjoy the following photos were all taken on November 11. Don't forget that Nancy now has another e-mail address. You can now send e-mail to her new address which is shown at the bottom of the page.

Please send her a note and tell her you saw these photos.

St. Mary's church in Polo recently got this new Baptismal Font which is on the left. Tricia was the first to be baptized with the new font. Here is our pastor, Father John Hanrahan, along with Panjee, Nancy, Tricia and myself. 01.jpg
Patricia Marie had four baptismal sponsors. Behind Nancy and Tricia are my son, Chris and daughther-in-law Brooke. On the left is Linda Faivre, a former employee of mine and a trusted friend. Between Linda and Brooke is Suzy Corbitt, who is our Village Clerk and Brooke's Mom. This photo was taken inside the church which was just recently reconditioned. 02.jpg
Little Tricia rests in her bouncer after arriving home from her baptism. She seems to like the bouncer because it vibrates, has flashing lights and plays music. It also has things she can touch and a mirror she can look at. In this photo you can see that Tricia is starting to look more like Nancy. 03.jpg
Following the baptism, we went back to the house. Father John Hanrahan kindly blessed both our office and our house. Then, we sat down to have something to eat. Here, Father John already has a sandwich while Dorothy Clothier, a friend and an employee of mine for 15 years, and Brooke start filling up plates from the food on the kitchen table. 04.jpg
Little Tricia takes a nap following all of the excitement. Nancy placed her baptism presents around her. Now that she is getting older, several people are saying that Tricia looks less like my side of the family and more like Nancy's side of the family. Several people say that Tricia has Nancy's eyes but others see Sarah in her. 05.jpg
Proud parents Nancy and Larry with little Tricia. I am not sure that Tricia appreciated the Christening Dress but she looked good in it. Panjee took this photo. 06.jpg
