Everything went extremely well. The delivery was a classic example of everything going well with no complications. Mother Nancy required no stitches, no IV, and just a pill or two. Baby Patricia has been a very good baby. The nurses commented that we must be blessed because Nancy had such a quick and easy delivery with no problems and now have a pretty baby who seems to be very good.
Nancy originally suggested the name Patricia. Since my Joe was born on St. Patrick's day but got named Joe after my father, I felt we owed St. Patrick a name. Marie is my mother's name. Since God favored us with another girl, I felt it was time to name a child after my mother.
This page is Patricia's first computer lesson. She has been in my left hand while I was doing scanning and typing with my right hand. Nancy is laughing at me but I told her that there is nothing like getting them started young with the computer.
Don't forget that Nancy now has another e-mail address. You can now send e-mail to her new address which is shown at the bottom of this page.
Please send her a note and tell her you saw these photos.

| This photo of Panjee, Nancy and newborn Patricia was taken on Saturday night at KSB Hospital in Dixon, Illinois. Nancy and I felt very comfortable here because you give birth in the same room where you stay. You have a refrigerator in the room and can bring your own snacks. I spent the night in a recliner chair next to Nancy. | ![]() |
| This photo was taken on Sunday at noon as we left the front door of KSB Hospital. When the nurses found out that Nancy was a nurse and that Menchu, Cookie and Richard are coming to the U.S., they got very excited because they are badly in need of more nurses. This hospital is only about a 15 minute drive from my house. | ![]() |
| Nancy almost did not want me to use this photo because she says it does not look like her. This was taken adjacent to one of the evergreen trees in front of our house as we came home from the hospital. I wanted to use this photo because it shows most of Patricia's face. With her pink skin and round, Polish face, Patricia looks more like an American. In fact, Patricia looks very much like Larry's Joe and David looked when they were newborns. But only time will tell whether she will get some Filipina features. | ![]() |
| On Saturday, Panjee went to Rockford with Joe and Devon. I was able
to reach them via cell phone after the baby was born. When I spoke to Panjee
and told her that she now had a baby sister, she shouted "Yes!"
This photo of Panjee holding baby Patricia was taken on Sunday soon after we returned from the hospital. Panjee promised to help with taking care of the baby. |

| Daddy Larry, mama Nancy and newborn Patricia at home on Sunday after
returning from the hospital. I was the first to change diapers and burp
the baby because Nancy was a little afraid because of Patricia's small
size. By Sunday evening she was feeling more confident.
In this photo you can again see that Patricia looks like a typical American baby except for her small size. She is feeding well and probably should start gaining weight shortly. |

| We have a large bedroom with its own bathroom. Nancy has set up this area for the baby in the alcove leading to the bathroom. The crib has Winnie The Pooh sheets and blanket as well as a Pooh mobile. Nancy also has a changing table and bassinet for the baby next to the crib. Note that she even has Winnie The Pooh on the wall. | ![]() |
